TPF Funds Grant For New Police K-9 Unit

In November, the Torrance Police Foundation board approved a grant for an additional K-9 dog for the Torrance Police department for $29,700.  With the help of our sponsors and in particular, the Honda Associates who held several fundraisers to fund a new K-9, we were able to fulfill this need.  Additionally, one of our current K-9 dogs will be trained in explosive detection (“bomb sniffing”).  To date, Torrance has been one of the few agencies without this in place. Honda Evening at Napa Rose raises almost $50,000 for Torrance Police Foundation

On Saturday, November 11, 2017, American Honda Motor Co. Inc., and Board Member Steve Morikawa, generously hosted friends of the Torrance Police Foundation for a night of culinary delights, wine pairings and a high end silent auction. National Police Unity Tour

This year, the Torrance Police Foundation was honored to send two of our Police Officers to take part in the National Police Unity Tour from New Jersey to Washington D.C. We are proud to have supported Lt Chris Roosen and Sgt. Greg Tiddle from the Torrance Police Department on their ride. For the past 18 years, law enforcement officers have come together to raise awareness for those officers who have died in the line of duty. TPF hopes to save lives with inaugural grant to Torrance Police for AED’s

Torrance Police Foundation was proud to present its first grant check to the Torrance Police Department in the amount of $26,390.74 to jumpstart the Torrance Police Department AED Program. Congratulations to Torrance Police Department for leading “Operation Money Bags”

  The Torrance Police Foundation congratulates the Torrance Police Department on a job well done! Torrance Police recently led a group of 18 other police agencies, including over 400 officers in a raid of 28 locations in and around South Los Angeles in August that led to the arrest of 13 people that were tied to over 5,000 burglaries in Southern California, including burglaries in Torrance and the South Bay. National Night Out – NNO

Torrance Police Officers are looking forward to participating in various National Night Out celebrations across the city on August 2, 2016. National Night Out is an important event in our community that promotes the neighborhood spirit, crime prevention and police-community partnerships. Torrance expects 25-30 block parties across the city and there are over 200 active Neighborhood Watch groups who are continuously working to encourage citizens to get involved.
